House Painter in Oystermouth

Daffodil Decor are Oystermouth’s house painters, covering Victorian and Edwardian terraces on Newton Road, the larger semis running up from the seafront on Southend Road, and period properties within a few hundred metres of Oystermouth Castle.
One team handles everything: exterior masonry, timber, soffits, and interior rooms throughout — coordinated as one project with one schedule and one point of contact. We cover all of Oystermouth, Newton, and the wider Mumbles SA3 area.

Oystermouth Properties We Paint
Victorian Terraces on Newton Road
Newton Road runs the spine of Oystermouth. The terraces either side date from the 1880s to 1910s: two and three-storey solid-wall properties with bay windows, rendered facades, and original timber joinery. Rendered facades here have accumulated paint layers over decades.
Salt Exposure and Marine Systems
Properties on the seaward side of Newton Road accumulate salt on exterior surfaces at a meaningful rate. We salt-wash all external surfaces before priming. Bay windows face full south-west exposure, and the joint between timber and masonry is where water entry typically begins. We seal this detail as standard.
Exterior House Painting
A full exterior paint on an Oystermouth Victorian terrace covers rendered facades, timber sash windows, bay window surrounds and cills, front doors, fascias, soffits, and gutters. See our exterior painting and masonry painting pages for more detail.
Interior House Painting
Victorian terraces in Oystermouth retain original features: coving, picture rails, dado rails, original fire surrounds, and deep skirting boards. We work carefully around these and use compatible finishes. Kitchens and bathrooms get mould-resistant primers. See our interior painting page.

We check the facade, tap for hollow render, assess timber and biological growth, and give you a written quote based on what we find.
2. Surface Preparation
Salt wash on all external surfaces. Fungicidal treatment on biological growth. Hollow render hacked back and made good. Cracks filled. Timber stripped to sound material.
3. Priming and Application
Appropriate primer for each substrate. Two finish coats on masonry; three on the most exposed elevations. Exterior gloss or satin on all timber in two full coats.
