Before: the starting point

What needed doing
The new owner walked the house with us before moving in. The list was straightforward, but it spanned every trade:
- An original kitchen with dated tiling and worn units
- A tired bathroom in need of replacement panelling and trim
- Damp damage in the downstairs corner, with active mould
- Worn flooring throughout the ground floor
- Walls and trim across every room needing repaint
- A small upstairs bedroom with no clear use
Booked one trade at a time, that’s weeks of sequential work. Three or four contractors to manage.
After: one finished home in eight working days
A consistent finish, room to room
Delivered on schedule, finished to the same standard across every trade:
- Fresh LVT through the downstairs, all the way to the garden doors
- Warm-grey decoration in every room
- Damp corner cut out, treated and made good first
- New bath panel on a built supporting frame
- New kitchen sink and strip lighting
- Built-in home office desk designed and finished on site
Eight working days, start to finish. One quote. One final invoice.

What we did: one team, every trade
We run co-ordinated multi-trade refurbs where decoration is the anchor and the rest fits around it. For James, that meant decoration, flooring, bathroom carpentry and bespoke joinery. One team, eight working days, one point of contact.
Decoration and flooring throughout
Walls finished in one consistent warm grey, room to room. The damp corner downstairs was cut out, replastered and mould-treated before any paint went on. Old flooring up, substrate levelled, new LVT laid through the whole ground floor in a single colour. See our interior painting service for full scope.
Bathroom, kitchen and lighting
New bath panel on a built supporting frame. New sink and strip lighting in the kitchen. Small jobs, big lift. See our bathroom decorating service.
Bespoke upstairs joinery
A built-in white desk, designed, made and finished on site in the small upstairs bedroom. Unused space turned into a working home office, day-one ready.

Larger refurbs like this run smoothly because of our sister brand, Daffodil Carpentry. They’re Swansea carpenters covering refurbishments, fitted joinery, flooring fits and trim. Same base in Uplands, same project diary. To the client, it’s one schedule and one finish date.
Whole-house refurbs in Neath: what these properties typically need
Older core terraces vs SA11 2 semis
Neath’s housing splits two ways. The Victorian core around Windsor Road and the old market is compact, with original wall builds that predate modern damp standards. Older terraces here usually need plaster repair before cosmetic work earns its keep. The SA11 2 suburbs (Penrhiwtyn, Briton Ferry Road) are post-war semis with more standard layouts. Decoration and flooring carry the bulk of the refresh there.
This one sat in the older stock. The damp corner was cut out, replastered and mould-treated before a brush went near it. That’s the only way warm grey holds on a wall that previously held water. Everything else (LVT, joinery, bathroom) ran on top of sound substrate. We work as a regular painter and decorator in Neath on jobs of this shape.

★★★★★
“I can not praise enough just how good Rob and his team are. I just bought a house which needed a number of things doing. I thought I would have to hire different people to do the jobs. But when I explained to Rob what I was doing he organised different tradesmen to do the work while he was there. And every aspect of all the jobs was carried out perfectly.”
